Biography
Attorney James F. Cyrus IV was born in Manhattan, raised in Trinidad, and earned his degree in Political Science and Latin American Studies from UNC Chapel Hill. His involvement with the Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity sparked his initial passion for helping others. After studying at the London School of Economics and working as a financial advisor, his travels inspired a career in law to advocate for the disadvantaged. He earned his law degree from NCCU in 2010, gained experience with the U.S. District Court and The Law Offices of James D. Williams Jr., and founded The Cyrus Law Firm in Charlotte, focusing on Criminal, Personal Injury, Immigration, and Traffic Law.

After a career in Finance and a few transformative international trips, Mr. Cyrus enrolled at North Carolina Central University School of Law, winning both the Thurgood Marshall Scholarship and Essay Competition.
During law school, he served as a judicial intern with the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of North Carolina under the guidance of the Honorable William Webb.
He also interned at The Law Offices of James D. Williams Jr., P.A., a boutique law firm in Durham, NC, that offered legal services in the area of Criminal Defense and Sports Law.
Mr. Cyrus passed the Bar in 2010 and obtained his North Carolina license.
He joined the Williams firm as an Associate Attorney.
In 2010, Cyrus also founded The Cyrus Law Firm in Charlotte, NC, inspired and determined to serve the diverse communities of North Carolina with his global perspective.
Cyrus has represented hundreds of clients and earned the respect of his peers for his legal expertise, professionalism and advocacy for underrepresented individuals.
