Although possessing bail bond, bail bonds, bail and bond, suretiesmany criminal overtones, the process is civil in nature and requires a deep understanding of the development of the law in this area, knowledge of the school board attorneys involved throughout the State as well as a keen understanding of the different legal requirements when analyzing motions to set aside forfeitures as opposed to those seeking relief from judgment.

Andresen & Arronte has appeared throughout the State of North Carolina on behalf of sureties in both district and superior court in its efforts to either set aside forfeiture notices resulting from a defendant’s failure to appear for court or to obtain recompense for judgments paid when the absconding defendant was not returned to jail prior to the forfeiture becoming a judgment absolute.
