Indeed, contracts have become a common part of our daily lives. We must read, analyze and evaluate contracts in our personal and business lives on an almost daily basis.
Surprisingly, not every provision included in a contract is automatically enforceable. For example, venue selection clauses and attorney fee provisions are not always enforceable. Similarly, "non compete" agreements are sometimes deemed unenforceable because they are not reasonable with respect to geographic scope or length of time. On the contrary, courts typically seek to enforce arbitration clauses because the arbitration process lessens the burden on our court system. In short, if you have a contract issue you should immediately seek legal advice from competent counsel. Failure to act in a timely manner can have ill effects on your legal rights. Andresen & Arronte is here to help if you have suffered monetary damages due to breach of a contract or if you have questions with respect to your rights relating to a particular contract. |
