Profile
With over 26 years of litigation experience, Mr. Andresen has been involved in over 300 jury trials in both civil and criminal courts. His ability to litigate in both State and Federal courts has helped provide the law firm with uncommon litigation flexibility not often found among boutique litigation firms.
Additionally, the breadth of his background and experience has also provided the firm with uncommon insight. After receiving an undergraduate degree from St. Lawrence University, Mr. Andresen taught English in Santa Barbara, California. Thereafter, he received a Master of Business Administration from the University of Notre Dame, whereupon he became employed by Mellon Bank, NA in Pittsburg, PA in its lending department. He received his JD from Wake Forest University School of Law in 1980. He served on the School’s Law Review as a published author. Upon graduation he moved to Charlotte, North Carolina with his wife, Margueritte. He has lived and remained in the continual practice of law in Charlotte since that time.
Appointed by President Ronald Reagan in 1982 to serve as Chief Assistant United States Attorney for the Western District of North Carolina, Mr. Andresen prosecuted a number of high profile matters including that of United States v. James Debarteleben, a defendant responsible for manufacturing and passing an excess of $800,000 in counterfeit currency and numerous acts of sodomy of young women and several deaths throughout the country.
After concluding his tenure with the United State Attorney’s office, Mr. Andresen founded the law firm Andresen & Arronte. He and his wife have raised four children in Charlotte. Over the years his interests have included playing bad golf and coaching his children. While he now focuses on continuing to develop the law firm, he spends much of his leisure time with his wife at their beach house.
