Mr. Cowley’s background and experience in engineering and construction provide the firm with a unique perspective into construction law and construction defects issues.

Jorge earned an undergraduate degree from North Carolina State University and a masters degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in civil engineering.  He later administered Raleigh’s mass transit program.  Afterwards, Jorge opened an engineering firm designing projects in several southeastern states, including both of the Carolinas.  Jorge has also worked as a consultant on numerous international projects throughout Europe, Asia, Africa and the Americas.  He later received his JD from the University of North Carolina School of Law.

Mr. Cowley and his wife Debbie have lived in Charlotte since 1979 where they raised two children.  His interests have included coaching his children’s sports teams, sailing, whitewater rafting and snow skiing.
